This workshop at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam was all about ZINES: self published, DIY, low budget little magazines ('invented' in the 70s by the punks, popular with the riot grrls in the 90s and still amazingly alive and kicking today).

The students had to work 'the oldskool way', which meant no computers!! They cut and pasted, photocopied, drew, and photocopied some more. The subjects varied from diseases to the potato, from 'crap talk' to being 'lost in translation'.

At the end of the week the students set up a little stall to sell their zines and much to their own surprise (but not to ours..) they almost sold out!
